TRAFFICKING
Marijuana Trafficking in Massachusetts
Marijuana trafficking in Massachusetts is the possession with the intent to distribute or the actual distribution of a certain amount of marijuana, a Class D substance in Massachusetts.
A conviction for trafficking in marijuana for 50 but less than 100 pounds carries a mandatory minimum sentence of either 2 ½ years state prison or 1 year house of correction. Penalties at this level of trafficking in marijuana are at the discretion of the court, and that is where the skills and experience of a Massachusetts Drug Law Attorney can help.
A person convicted for trafficking between 100 pounds but less than 2000 pounds must receive at least a three year mandatory state prison sentence.
If you are convicted of trafficking 2,000 pounds but less than 10,000 pounds, a five year minimum state prison sentence
For 10,000 pounds or more of marijuana, the court mandates a ten (10) year minimum state prison sentence. |
