Woburn

Woburn is a city of about 37,300 located in Middlesex County. Woburn is bordered by Reading, Winchester, Stoneham, Wilmington, Lexington and Burlington and is 12.9 miles in total area. Woburn was settled in 1640 and incorporated in 1642. Woburn remained primarily agricultural until the 19th Century, when both the Middlesex Canal and the Boston & Lowell Railroad opened. Woburn's tanning and shoemaking industries boomed into the 20th Century. In recent history, there was a serious water contamination crisis in Woburn which resulted in a high-profile civil lawsuit. Today, Woburn offers a mixture of residential, industrial, and conservation areas. Woburn is home to Woburn District Court, and the Middlesex Superior Court was moved from Cambridge to Woburn in 2008. At both of these courthouses, like all other Massachusetts courthouses, there is an almost constant flow of drug-related cases.

Individuals from all walks of life find themselves facing drug-related charges. High-powered professionals, caring parents, ambitious students, hard-working men and women, and those who are doing their very best to fight addiction can all find themselves accused of a drug crime. They are often blindsided and deeply troubled when they learn that the penalties for Massachusetts drug crimes can be life-altering. However, an experienced Massachusetts criminal drug defense attorney can help.

There are various ways in which a defense lawyer can fight your charge and protect your future. Many times, a lawyer will be able to get your case dismissed, your charges reduced or your case resolved so that you will not have a criminal record. When police violate your constitutional rights, which is all too often the case, a lawyer will be able to get the illegally obtained evidence suppressed (and suppression frequently leads to dismissal). A skilled lawyer will explore every facet of your case and use every possible tactic to succeed for you. Even in difficult cases, an intelligent lawyer can typically craft a creative line of defense to protect your rights.
